What makes this wood-grain style unique? It is the simplistic pairing of wood-grain and white that is classic, minimalist and uncomplicated. This versatile pairing creates an unexpectedly, wonderful ‘look and feel’, blending wood-grains with clean and clinical white, now called ‘wood-white’. The pairing works well the wood-grain creates a feeling of warmth and the white creates feelings of spaciousness.
Wood-white is ideal for smaller kitchens too, so don’t shy away from the pairing of white on top and wood-grain for bottom cabinetry. Focal features works well in smaller kitchens – use wood-grain for display cabinets with glass doors or a wine-wrack – to create more interest.

The breakfast nook extends from the island, also in keeping with the dark and white pairing, keeping the ‘look and feel’ simple and uncluttered. From the above, it is clear that designing a functional, practical and aesthetically pleasing kitchen lies in the planning and design of the kitchen, considering how the kitchen works, what elements work together and how to add interest by using a feature/s. This is one of the most important considerations when choosing a kitchen designer to design your dream kitchen with you, to reflect your personal taste and lifestyle.
